I do realize there is a lot of information swirling through the air about how to deal with this nightmare, on so many different fronts.
Scientists, Doctors, Attorneys, Insurance folks, Financial Analysts and the list goes on. And of course, let’s not forget the millions who are quarantined that weigh on anything and everything, mostly out of boredom.
What I have noticed is that regardless of their viewpoint on a whirlwind of topics, the overwhelming majority of human beings in this world are caring people that want to help others. The point is that even though we may not agree with those views, most people are coming from a good place.
Me, I’m a restaurant guy, so I feel responsible to offer up whatever I can to help.
I’m trying to stay in the present and focus on what I can do today with the facts that are in front of me.
With that in mind, a friend sent me the actual Executive Order from the State of Georgia which lists the guidelines for the reopening of many businesses this week.
To be clear, this isn’t a referendum on whether it’s a good idea at this time or not. I’ll let the experts sort that out. The purpose of sharing this document is to give a glimpse into what it may look like in California and other states as the veil starts to lift.
And after reading it, I don’t believe it’s going to be that dramatically different here, so it makes sense to start planning and preparing now.

To summarize the Georgia Executive Order, they’ve listed 40 different measures that restaurants need to have in place in order to reopen their dining rooms.
The first being that there can only be 10 patrons per 500 sq. ft.
The first question that comes to mind when I read these is, how will it be enforced and who will be doing the enforcing?
Regardless, if you haven’t done so already, you will need to get strategic and create a Business Plan on how you’re going to roll out this Next Phase. It will be happening sooner than you think.
